Model: Archer C3150
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: firmware:3.0.0 0.9.1 v005f.0 Build 170926 Rel.63400n

Hello,

I just get my Archer C3150, i used to have and archer C8.

I bought an Orico 2 HDD Enclosure with USB C 3.0, to use with the C8, that way was possible to use both HDD on my network, that worked just fine.

But, at this C3150 it seems not working so great. It can see only one HDD not the other one.

What I Tried:

Conect the Orico at my pc to see with everthing was ok. It was

Still at my computer, i Changed the HDD position, still ok.

In the C3150:

Tried both USB 3.0 and 2.1 same result.

If i disconect one that is showing at the router, it starts to see the other one.

I hope i could give enought clues,

anyway I'm here for more needed explanation.

Thank you,

Kurt

Hi Kurt,

Same thread https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/162854?page=1&t=2019%2F06%2F13%2002%3A10%3A33%20%2B0000

You can tell us some details first, including but not limited:

A, the capacity and format of the HDD.

B. How do they connect to the USB 3.0 together?

C. Any external power supply needed?

Good day.

First, sorry for the duble topic.

When I reopened yesterday, I cound't find this one. I will stick with this one.

Answaring your questions:

A, the capacity and format of the HDD.
A: One has 1TB and the other one 500Gb

B. How do they connect to the USB 3.0 together?
A: I use an HDD enclousure, like a hdd bay, so I can access with just one USB

C. Any external power supply needed?

A: They are already has a power supply from the HDD enclusure.

(Question from other Topic)

Q: You said it cannot work with C3150, could you please provide more details? Like they cannot be recognized or cannot be accessed?
A: That is the Wierd part. The Enclusure can hold two HDD, so Bay 1 and Bay 2. If both are plugged, the AC3150 cab see just the HDD at bay 1. If I disconnect the HDD at Bay 1, the AC3150 start to see the HDD at Bay 2. The same thing happen if I switch the HDD postion. The wierd part is, on my C8 that did't happend. They show me both HDD as sda1 and sdb1.

Q: With one drive plugged into the USB port, does it work properly?

A: Yes it does. Also, I just checked if my Enclusure work fine, I plugged at my PC USB port, and it shows both drives.

I think it cover all your questions,

Thank you!

Hi,

What is the model number of the HDD hub? And what is the capacity of the 2 Hard drives?

And what are the partrition formats?

Generally speaking, the single USB hard drive is used to enable USB sharing function, so for the HDD hub, we cannot ensure that it will work with the router. In other word, even if the HDD hub works fine with Archer C8, we cannot guarantee that it will work well with the C3150.

Thanks in advance, and have a nice day.

The HDD ENCLUSE is the Orico 2 Bay: ORI-NS200C3-BK

One HDD is an 1TB

Second HDD is an 500GB

And both are NTFS partition.

@KurtP

It seems that there is some compatibilty issue between the HDD hub and the C3150 V2, that is why only one HDD can be detected at once.

You can try to plug the 2 HDD into the USB ports directly, as we tested on our lab, the C3150 can detect 2 hard drive at the same time.
