2.4ghz radio
The option to disable the 2.4ghz only hides it. It is still there. (Not very neigbourhood friendly). Is there a way to turn off de 2.4ghz radio for real?

@Ydm this is not main 2.4Ghz of deco M5, i have m5 too and have others 2.4/5Ghz always as hidden. It's a controller network, working only between deco units. I made some tests and when i turn off 2.4Ghz always have other hidden 2.4Ghz

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, I got your point.
This is exactly like what leogz said, the hidden 2.4GHz wifi networks are used to work as the wifi backhaul.
To disable the 2.4GHz via the Deco APP, the client devices will no longer detect the 2.4GHz wireless network, while the wifi for backhaul is still running, and cannot be detected by the devices, unless you use some programme;
FYI, the Deco supports ethernet backhaul and wifi backhaul; even though they are wired to each other, the wifi backhaul is still there.
May it help and have a nice day.

Hi,
The 2.4GHz won't work once you disable it via the app, while cause the 2.4GHz and 5GHz have the same network name, the wifi network you saw on the devices should be the 5GHz.
You can try to change another wireless network name to verify it.
Good day.

I,m sorry to say that this is not the case. Using an app which show hidden wireless signals, one can clearly see the m5 emitting on the 2.4ghz band even when the option is turn off.

Hi,
That is a little weird, once we turned off the 2.4GHz radio, it won't broadcast wireless network anymore.
From the picture, I have a question, how do you know that one of them is from Deco M5?
If you have Android device, please download wifi analyzer app on your device and try to scan the wireless networks. It will detect the wireless networks nearby and where they come from.
After that, please show me a picture.
Thanks in advance, and have a nice day.

Simple enough: if I unplug the power on my three M5, these signals disappear and they reappear as soon as I plug them back. Furthermore, as shown in the next screen shot, the 3 MAC address from the networks mark as hidden belong to my M5 nodes.
Wifi analyser give pretty much the same information as net analyser pro. The 3 signals without names are the ones coming from my M5 nodes:

Hi Kevin,
What is the solution? Is this a bug? Are my M5 defective?

You mean that even tho my M5 are all wired, they still use wifi to communicate to each other?
What about ethernet backhaul then?

I see this too, even into backhauk have default hidden network. Maybe it's a WiFi SON feature of IPQ4019 controller on Deco M5.
