Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 3.16.0 0.9.1 v600c.0 Build 181119 Rel.41073n

Hi,

I'm using TP-Link Archer C5v4 for almost a year, but only recently after switching to working remotely I was forced to investigate intermittent internet access, as my ISP properly pointed a problem within my local network.

I use a setup where I got a fiber modem and the mentioned wireless router connected to it via lan. The Internet is configured as a Dynamic IP and indicates to be healthy. Nevertheless few times a day the connection gets unstable for a couple of minutes (usually 2 to 10) and then restores itself again with no action taken.

I started using wired LAN connection as I was sure it was a matter of a wireless noise in a city center, but the problem persisted. I am pinging the router address at 192.168.0.1 and during this loss of internet connection I can see that the ping goes from usual 1-2ms (with single spikes of ~200ms) up to 2000-4000ms for the time of connection degradation. I am the only one using the router (whether wired or wireless). The problem looks the same for all kind of connections and client OSs.

I upgraded the firmware 3.16.0 0.9.1 v600c.0 Build 181119 Rel.41073n which I thought initially helped, but only for a couple of days (perhaps it was just a reboot and a mere accident that I haven't seen the problem for a couple of days and then I stopped paying attention that much to the stability).

Any ideas what could be causing the issue? Any specific advice how could reconfigure the router/debug it in order to have a reliable connection?

Thanks

Piotr

@PiotrN Hi!

Did you get a solution for your problem?

I got a very similar problem recently (maybe because now I'm also more time at home):

* all devices are connected to WiFi, but there is no response from the router side. I can't even access the administration page. Then after a restar everything seems to be ok.

Don't know if it could be something with the 5G network (as I saw in other foruns something related with this), so for now I'm trying only with 2.4G.

I have already a programmed restart to the router every day, without any positive results.

Regards,

Jorge
