Did you use Internet Explorer or any other browser to upgrade the firmware? I suggest you to try with Internet Explorer. In addition, I'd like to remind you that: use the wired connection instead of wireless connection to upgrade the firmware.

I use Chrome, is that a problem? I haven't used IE for about 10yrs and don't really want to download it onto my Mac ;)

Yes, I did do it via a wired connection. Do you know what the error code is?


Edit: Think I may just have discovered the problem....it seems I already have firmware version 121016 installed which I'm guessing is newer than the one I was trying to install :o

You should be able to upgrade or downgrade firmware.

I'm considering this - I purchased new TD-W8968 and in 24 hours I have had to reboot 3 times to recover internet connectivity. Will post separate forum post about it. I lose DNS connectivity. Diags fail pinging primary DNS.

I can't find the current firmware "0.6.0 1.1 v0005.0 Build 121016 Rel.48690n" on TP link website. Latest they post is TD-W8968_V1_120926

I want to downgrade to try and see if lower version more stable but if I do there's no way I can upgrade as no file available!
