New WiFi Network Extenders AC1750 RE450 and AC1200 RE305 will not connect to 5GHz band
I bought a new AC1750 RE450, which had no problems linking to the 2.4 GHz band on my ASUS dual band router. I have an older AC1200 RE305 Ver1.0 which has no issues connecting both frequencies and a AC750 RE200 Ver3.8 which also will connect to both frequencies, but does not perform as well in it's location. I bought (and returned) 2 AC1750 RE450 WiFi extenders because they would not connect to 5GHz band, even after following the instructions to take the router off of auto channel and explicitly link to channel 36, etc. I replaced with an AC1200 RE305 (ver1.8). It also will not link to the 5GHz band. What's going on?

First, glad to hear that you got it fixed, thanks for your feedback.
Then for the WPS method, cause the WPS mechanism varies with the different manufacturer, so there may have some compatibility issue which affects the performance of the WPS configuration. That is the reason why we recommend to configure the extender with the Tether app or the web UI.
