Archer C6 2.4G band stops working, disable then enable restores
Recently purchased Archer C6 Router running the latest firmware. On 4 occasions the 2.4G WiFi band has stopped working, devices can connect to it but get no network access. Disabling and enabling the 2.4G band on the admin interface restores the connectivity, the 5G band is not affected, a device connected to it is used to reset the 2.4G band.
I used the chat support service to discuss the issue and the suggestion was to change from automatic to a fixed channel for the 2.4G band, this appeared to resolve the issue but it has happened again today, a phone which only works on 2.4G was showing the WIFI as access denied.
is there anything else I can do to resolve this issue.

I have purchased the router yesterday and updated to the latest version of firmware, 1.3.5. But getting this error. Not exactly sure the frequency of the issue, but I had this issue more than 3 times within 24 hours

Hi,
i can also confirm the issue. It happens since 1.3.0, the OneMesh update.
I use OneMesh and the 2.4Ghz is NOT going down there.
But when i enable the 2.4Ghz Guest Network, which is not used in OneMesh, the whole 2.4Ghz network is going down. Also the one in OneMesh.
The workaround for me is: Never Enable the 2.4Ghz GUEST network. With this, the bug is not triggering.
My question is: Is there anyone using OneMesh and having the issue with 2.4Ghz GUEST enabled ?
For my findings this bug has nothing to do with any channel settings and so on. Its has something to do with using OneMesh or not.
Best Regards

Hello,
Do you mean the 2.4G wireless of your C6 router is disconnecting? How about the 5G and wired connection on it, are they still stable?
How many wireless devices are connected to the 2.4G network, are they experiencing the same issue? Please try to change the wireless settings on the C6, such as wireless channel and channel width in order to reduce the interference with others.
When the 2.4G disconnects, are all devices still showing connected but you cannot access any website or the wireless connection is broken and they cannot connect to it?
Thanks.

hello, i have connecting 7 devices on 2,4 wifi. If 2,4 doesn't work 5ghz wifi is ok and wired devices are ok too.

@Kevin_Z ,
Kevin,
I am guessing from the TP-Link icon next to your handle that you work for TP-Link.
Look back up through this thread. You will see all the information that many users have provided detailing their expreince of this issue. It should be in problem management.
Rgrds,
David.

Hello,
Are you running the latest 1.3.5 version and do you mean enabling the 2.4G guest network will cause the C6 network down? What is the exact behavior when the C6 network is down? No device can access the internet when connected to C6?
How about the LED status on the C6 when the internet is down? Below is a beta firmware you may give it a go:
May it helps.

Hi,
I use the C6 as a classic accesspoint in router mode, its connected via a LAN port to my LAN.
I use OneMesh with Tplink Re300.
The C6 uses 1.3.5 firmware at the moment.
When i enable the 2.4Ghz Guest, all my 2.4Ghz clients will disconnect, this happens very random times. Also the RE300 loses 2.4Ghz. 5Ghz working just fine. When i scan my network the 2.4Ghz SSID is still broadcasting, but no device can connect (invalid password).
Disable and enable the 2.4Ghz bring it back to work.
Never enabling the 2.4Ghz guest, and the bug will not trigger.
I have seen the bug first when i decided to bring some smart devices in the 2.4Ghz guest to isolate them from the others.
To trigger the bug just enable the 2.4Ghz guest and let it idle around. There is no need to connect something to it. Normaly so after a day or longer the whole 2.4Ghz become unusable not allowing any connection.
This has nothing todo with internet or so. My C6 is not serving this, its not my main router. So WAN port is not connected. And over 5Ghz, internet is there no problem.
More information:
2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz uses same SSID and password. The guestnetworks use different SSID and password. 5Ghz guest is also on, but there is no problem.
I dont need the 2.4Ghz Guest and disable only this make the C6 stable.
SmartConnect is disabled.
Also i have no problem with high ping or something.
I can not test the new beta this weekend. Thank you Kubas for doing this.
Best regards.

Heloo, the same problem with a new betta 1.3.7b. Lost pockets, high ping, completely unusable. For me the best option is betta fw 1.3.3. But it is also far from perfect. Br
