Archer C6 2.4G band stops working, disable then enable restores
Recently purchased Archer C6 Router running the latest firmware. On 4 occasions the 2.4G WiFi band has stopped working, devices can connect to it but get no network access. Disabling and enabling the 2.4G band on the admin interface restores the connectivity, the 5G band is not affected, a device connected to it is used to reset the 2.4G band.
I used the chat support service to discuss the issue and the suggestion was to change from automatic to a fixed channel for the 2.4G band, this appeared to resolve the issue but it has happened again today, a phone which only works on 2.4G was showing the WIFI as access denied.
is there anything else I can do to resolve this issue.

I am somewhat bemused that we have got to page 42 of this thread and the only working wolution appears to be to run OpenWRT. Many people have identified the issue here. Many more users out there who aren't tremotely technically inclined will just be blaming their microwave for the erratic behaviour of the kit.
How long before TP-Link identify the root cause and fix it?

Have you had any issues with the 5GHz band?

That was my plan too but be aware that the C6 seems to have issues with the 5GHz band in OpenWrt.

If I must choose I'd prefer 5Ghz network not working instead of 2.4GHz...

Last question before flashing (tomorrow)
my actual firmware permit to put an adress different from 192.168.1.1 and I would use the 192.168.31.1
is it possible with openWRT ?
thank you
