Archer C6 2.4G band stops working, disable then enable restores
Recently purchased Archer C6 Router running the latest firmware. On 4 occasions the 2.4G WiFi band has stopped working, devices can connect to it but get no network access. Disabling and enabling the 2.4G band on the admin interface restores the connectivity, the 5G band is not affected, a device connected to it is used to reset the 2.4G band.
I used the chat support service to discuss the issue and the suggestion was to change from automatic to a fixed channel for the 2.4G band, this appeared to resolve the issue but it has happened again today, a phone which only works on 2.4G was showing the WIFI as access denied.
is there anything else I can do to resolve this issue.

Ok good news.
Flashing take how many Time ?
And configuration is easy and Can be done quickly ?
Cause tomorrow i'm in homeoffice... I can't stay too long Time without internet working...
@dIaBoLyK flashing takes couple of minutes. The rest depends on your knowledge of network setup. You can learn more on openwrt website. However, it seems that you are not familiar with custom firmware flashing so I don't recommend you doing that. If you make a mistake you can brick your device. It is up to you now and Good Luck.

Hi everyone,
Same problem for me, the 2.4Ghz drops after some time and only solution is to reboot the router.
My Archer C6 is on Access point mode connected to lan with Rj45
This problems occured with all last firmware version tested notably the last ones 1.3.5 and 1.3.6
Only solution working for now, go back to 1.3.0 Build 20200402 rel.52000(4555) version and no drop with this version since multiple weeks...
Hope a firmware up-to-date version will resolve that situation.

Hi,
I'm going to flash in few minutes but with tplink firmware 1.3.0 there is no problems ?
I prefer stay on original firmware.
Easy to downgrade ? Juste flash on webinterface ?

I have tried downgrade on 1.3.0
Easy, just flash by web interface
It keeps my parameters.
Right now I will try to reactivate 5GHz and all things liké WPS...
And wait and see...

Hi,
The firmware 1.3.0 has the same bug + it won`t keep your 2.4GHZ channel number setting.
When you reboot the router you get another fixed channel, not the one you configured.
But if it works for you...
Best Regards.

Also, I can see that you have the last firmware on your signature.
Is it real or are you on OpenWRT ?
Flashing OpenWRT is similar than official firmware no ?

Yes I`m on 1.3.6 and yes it`s working for me, but I`m using OneMesh, keep the 2.4GHZ Guest Network off cured my C6. But this does not work for everyone.
I had this bug in the past, but now it works for months.
I think flashing OpenWRT is easy over the WEB Interface, but if you want going back to original TP-Link Firmware you need some skills, you can read this on the OpenWRT internet site.
As i can read, it flashes from web interface 1.3.6 .
But flash only if you know what you do, the chance to get it bricked is good.
Best Regards
