@Montenegro

Please refer to the onemesh compatibility list.  There is no plan to add this feature to C60.

https://www.tp-link.com/onemesh/compatibility/

Meanwhile, for the router updated to the onemesh router, the access point stil can connect to it to extend the wifi range; like the TL-WA801ND, but they won't build up a mesh network together.

The router and the extender need supports onemesh both.

Best regards.

@Montenegro

As you can see, the onemesh feature will be added into all the SOHO product categories, including the wireless router, range extender and powerline adapters; I'm sorry for the inconvenience and misunderstanding caused here.

This feature does apply to all SOHO product categories, but not all devices included, for the device which support onemesh feature, you can refer to the onemesh compatibility.

Meanwhile, we will remind our marketing team and they can work on it and make it more rigorous.

Nice day.

Re:One mesh (NOT in AP mode for Archer C7)
2019-09-01 21:21:36

Hi,

And this "one mesh" update is online, hope there will be an EXTRA update soon.

Special bought 2 Archer C7's for the One Mesh option. (2 routers because they can (cpu-power) handle more connections for my smarthome devices)

But why is there no option for One Mesh in AP mode in the Archer C7, and WHY ?? is it NOT possible to have 2 Archer C7's in a One Mesh??

In the One Mesh config they "see" each other, but can't handshake for Mesh connection.

For now it/they work as AP with same SSID/PASSw for 2.4 & 5 wifi (distance in house, 1 groundfloor / 1 on 2nd floor.

Archer C7 v5,  fw,  1.0.11 Build 20190726 rel.57101(4555)

Is there a "hack" ?

@LeonVos

The Archer C7 does not support onemesh in AP mode;

The reason is that the router which supports onemesh is necessary on a onemesh network system, to builb up this system, we add extender which supports onemesh feature as well to do that; The extender is much cheaper than the router, cause the router is a necessity, extender will be a better choice to create the mesh wifi system together.

May it help and have a nice day.

@LeonVos

2x Model:   Archer C7

both Router with

Hardwareversion: V5

Firmware: Archer C7(EU)_V5_190726

Did you solve your problem ?

I also baught two C7-Routers. Both are Hardware Version V5 with the newest Firmware "Archer C7(EU)_V5_190726". Both are running as router and not as AP.

Under the OneMesh-Option they see each other, but the connection failed.

I don't understand WHY.

Is there someone can solve this problem?

@Kevin_Z

Is it possible to connect the Routers directly?

@McDee

The Archer C7 V5 supports one mesh in router mode. Usually, in an onemesh wifi system, we will add multiple network expansion devices, like range extender, powerline adapters, which support Onemesh as well, while only one router is needed;

So back to your case, you only need one Archer C7 to work as the main router in the onemesh network; You can use 2 Archer C7 to create 2 different mesh wifi system.

May it help and have a good day.

@Kevin_Z  I have 2x Archer A7s. One is serving as a standard router and I just connected the other currently in router mode as a client to the primary. How do I get the 2nd one to operate as a single mesh network? Both routers say "No OneMesh device to work with this mesh router."

Per the firmware page and website: "In a OneMesh network, your mobile device will seamlessly switch to the mesh router or extender that provides the fastest speed as you move through your home. "

HW & SW:

Archer A7 v5.0
