I was wondering if there is a way to use the tp link archer t4u on linux. 

 

I have tried the following: 

sudo apt update
sudo apt install rtl8812au-dkms

 

I did a reboot and did lsusb, but nothing pulled up as far as the tp link

What is the hardware version of the Archer T4U? 

 

And what is the kernel version of the linux computer.

 

You can go to the driver tab on the support page to verify whether there is official driver which matches the linux OS. 

https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/archer-t4u/#Driver

 

If not, you can find a driver online with the chipset.
