Hi,
I have just brought a TL-WN823N USB adapter and I want to use it as a Soft AP.

I know I can use Windows to create a hotspot, but I don't want to do that. I need to be able to change the 823N into a Soft AP but can't? There was no utility tool option on the CD and I can't find the utility download on the TP-Link website.

Can anyone help or talk me through how to do this please?

Thanks

Great - Thak you for the download link.

Regrettably after it was installed and run, it still won't turn the adaptor into an Access Point :(

@MrPacE

Thanks for your reply. Recently we do not use the configuration utility to configure it as soft ap anymore, instead we use the mobile hotspot on the Windows 10 itself.

You can give it a go.

Hi,
Thanks for that. I do use Windows but it limites me to 8 devices and I will need to hae more than that connected. I assume there is no way to increase the number of devices that Windows 10 allows?

Thanks.

@MrPacE

The maximum connected devices is limited, it is related to the hardware, which cannot be changed.

Wish your kindly understanding in advance.

Good day.

@Aiden001

Sorry to hear that. while as mentioned before, it is closed related to the hardware, while the hardware cannot be downgraded/upgraded.

With the mobile hotspot enabled, and combined with the main router's capacity, theoretically, it can satisfy the daily network requests.

Good day.
