Model: TL-WA901ND
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 3.16.9 Build 150409

I use a TL-WA901ND as a Wi-Fi access point to provide another Wi-Fi zone (different SSID) in the garden, garage and rear of my property.

It's mounted high up inside my garage, which is a brick structure.  The signal in the garden is, as you would expect, affected by the brick wall.

I was wondering if I would gain an advantage by replacing one of its three antennas with an external antenna that I would mount outside the garage.

Has anyone tried this?

@Downsie

First, we do not suggest you to change antenna,cause the antennas on one device work alternately, while if you want to change the external antennas on your AP to meet your special Wi-Fi requirements, we recommend you to replace all of them with same type of antenna other than change only one of them.

Below is the antenna type of the 901ND V3.

Antenna Type 3*5dBi Detachable Omni Directional (RP-SMA-F)

Good day.
