C5400x Gigabit Speed Issue
Hey Guys!
I own a TP-Link Archer 5400x router which has been working well atleast until I actually looked at my download speeds and did a speed test.... So I have gigabyte internet and realised that I was only downloading at 300 - 400 Mbps and when I did a speed test I got the exact same result. When I reboot my router I instantly get over 1 Gbps download and test speed but I don't understand why this is happening and how I can fix it so it doesn't happy every day. From what I can tell my speeds reduce again over a few hours until its locked again to around the 300-350 Mbps .
I have also tried plugging straight into my modem which fixes the issue so its for sure something to do with the router.... I was thinking maybe a QoS issue but I can't disable it...
Any suggestions?

What about the normal network activities? Like web browsing?
And you can show us a screenshot of speed test when you download games from steam.

I'd like to get the firmware as well. My network has been slow and inconsistent since I bought it last year. I'll be honest, this is my first TP link router and I have not been impressed by its performance. My Nighthawk was more dependable and if it weren't for the outdated hardware, it would still be on my network. The AC5400x lack of updates and overall attention makes me think I should have purchased a different premium router.
The main things giving me buyers remorse are:
1. Lack of VPN client....almost every router provides a VPN server, but in 2019 and beyond, people are looking for routers that can be the client.
2. Stability. As mentioned by others in this thread, something about the last firmware is not optimized. The "beta" is not available on the support page and a reasonable time has elapsed for it to be a release candidate. The release of the AX6000 and support for that product make me think the AC5400 reached premature end of life/support.
There is a lot of potential for this product and I'd like to make it work better.

Hi,
I'm facing this issue too.
can you send the beta link F/W to me?
Remarks
Should be informed to the product team and post the link beta F/W to the official website when I found the issue I thought it hardware issue I'm thinking to claim with a distributor but fortunately seeking the information and found that is F/W issue.
