Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.3.1

Hi There,

Novice in need of assistance.

I have a DVR connected to Deco M5 in router mode. I can view camera footage when connected to wifi of the same network but I cannot view remotely.

I followed port forwarding instructions as per the instructions but I am still unable to connect to dvr remotely. I also cannot confirm port forwarding through canyouseeme.

Details of my set up are below. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

On the WAN screen you have:

IP address 192.168.2.11

Default Gateway 192.168.2.1

Default DNS 192.168.2.1

Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

This means that all devices on your network will have IP addresses in the format 192.168.2.x

You are trying to port forward to a 192.168.0.x address which I would not expect to work.  It should be a 192.168.2.x address?

@CW185 Hmmmm...deco assigned the IP address 192.168.0.115 to my DVR and all my other devices are in the same format. Is the WAN incorrect? Can that even be changed?

@Tshanks78

The current WAN IP is a private IP address, while to make port forwarding work, it should be the public IP address.

There should be another router with public internet IP address existed, you need open the port for the Deco on it so that you can build up a tunnel for the DVR which you can access it remotely.

May it help and have a good day.
