Glad I came across this thread, I reported issues to my ISP few days ago as I was having packet loss, high latency and thought it was the ISP. The last thing I thought could be causing it is the deco. I have P7 btw. After the ISP confirmed they see no issues at all, I started investigaing. I could see the issue pinging the gateway which is the IP of deco. I disbaled 5GHZ wifi and testing now, may be a bit better but it is early to tell.

@Sam1

I am convinced the issue is firmware related.

When I first configured my decos I didn't update the firmware for nearly 1 month. And everything was fine.

As soon as I decided to update the to the latest firmware, these latency issues to the modem began.

It's a shame because this product was funtioning very well prior to the update.

@Daveomania Have you ever managed to fix this issue? I'm having the exact same problem with my 3x M5 setup and it's driving me crazy..

@Ali9521 Tried the new patch, seems to have eliminated the dropouts, however ping spikes are still present.

@Ali9521

Where did you get this fw update from? My decos still show as running the latest fw 1.3.1 when I attempt to update there is no new fw available.

I would love to try this update as my m5s still have dropouts and latency spikes constantly.

@Daveomania

Hello, the1.4.2 is released for those customers who have install 1.4.0; while cause some customers reported that this firmware may affect the performance under certain circumstances, the 1.4.0 had been withdrawn, and the new official firmware will be released soon. You can keep an eye on the Deco app or the official website for more updates.

Back to your case, we have noted all the information you have mentioned before; and to help you fix it, we would like to follow up on your case via email. If it is okay for you, please check your inbox and get in touch with our engineer.

Thanks a lot.

@Kevin_Z

I have the same problem with my 3 M5. Latency very high. Can't play games even with high priority set up. How can I get the new firmware to solve this issue, please?

@DanielFontolan You can get the firmware from here: https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202001/20200117/M5_v1.4.2_Fix_issues_of_firmware_1.4.0.zip

This is the forum post about it: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/187114

It fixed the connection loss for me, but the issue with latency spikes is still there.

I ha e exactly this problem too whee latency is high causing me to drop out of conference calls which is a big issue when I am working from home. M5 x 3 connected to plusnet router all good until firmware upgrade to 1.42 from 1.3.1 and wondering if this caused the latency was great before but can't use this currently.

if I connect to plusnet Wi-Fi all good any help or advice would be great.
