Hello guys,

I bought 5 routers AC1200 C5 v.4

I am trying to use it as an access point and I need an IP address reservation for some users.

When I turn on the router, I have the "Advanced" page and I can choose the address reservation in Advanced> Network> LAN Settings> Address Reservation.

But when I switch the router to Access Point mode, I can't go to "Advanced" because I only have the "Quick Setup" and "Settings" options, and I don't have an address reservation in any of the tabs.

I have some AC1200 C50 and I can do this configuration without problems... but not with this one.

This model can't be configured as an access point with ip reservation?

Thanks guys.

Here you have a img where you can see this.

@Dfadrique

Hello, the Archer C5 V4 does not support address reservation in access point mode, neither does Archer C50 V4.

They support address reservation feature only in router mode.

May it help and have a good day.

@Kevin_Z

Really I have AC1200 C5 v4 but I can't choose this.

On my Archer AC1200 C50 I can use this.

Here you have a screenshot of this.

@Dfadrique

I got your point, once you change the operation mode to access point mode, you still use the WAN port, and due to the existence of smart DHCP, you can get  the DHCP address reservation feature.

While Archer C5 does not support multiple operation mode selection, we need configure it as the access point manually, in this way, the DHCP is turned off and no address reservation available.

May it help and have a good day.

Ok, then I will return these and ask for a new one that can do this.

Thanks @Kevin_Z
