TP-Link AC1750 with the same SSID as Deco M9 Plus
Hi,
I plan on connecting one of the Deco M9 Plus to the TPLink AC1750 (router) in AP mode. Then have the 2nd Deco M9 Plus connect to the 1st Deco M9 Plus in wifi backhaul. If I set the SSID to the AC1750, will the Deco M9 Plus be able to pick up the same SSID as the AC1750 automatically? Is this configuration even possible?
Thanks

Hello, the Deco M9 plus can connect to each other by wired cable or wireless, while the main Deco need connect to the modem/router by wired cable to get internet first.
Back to your case, you can connect them like Deco M9 plus )))(((Deco M9 plus( AP mode)---AC1750.
The wireless settings is able to customized. You can change it to the same as the name of AC1750.
Best regards.

Yes, you are right. You can have the Decos and the AC1750 the same SSID fro both 5Gz and 2.4Gz.
May it help and have a good day.

Hello, I've also have an AC1750 and recently bought the Deco M3 system for better coverage at a 3-floor house. What would you recommend to have the Deco + AC1750 working together? I wish to maximize the use of all these resources. Thank you

yes, you can have them with the same SSIDs,
BUT ...
AFAIK it will NOT be a oneMesh Network between the Router and the DECO
I have a similar problem.
both Router and DECO have the same 2 SSIDs with identical passwords ...
The transfer almost seamless between the 2 Systems.
example:
my Phone hast IP 192.168.0.108 on the Router (the IP is set as reserved from the DHCP Server)
when I walk out of the router range I get a new IP from the DECO. On the DECO in AP mode you can't reserve an IP :-(
when I choose a fixed IP on the router I also get a new on the DECO ...
for most situations that is OK
but its not the perfect solution.
I also discovered that in an overlapping area the phone change very often the network, what is draining the battery.
