Model: TL-WR840N
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.2

Hello everyone.

I have recently set up a TL-WR820N in my home. Everything went smoothly except one quite annoying issue.

After the WiFi Router idles (Such as overnight) all of the clients disconnect and can't reconnect until I power cycle the router and wait for the clients to automatically reconnect.

While experiencing this issue, if I try to connect my iPhone, for example, it reads "Incorrect password" even though I have attempted to connect multiple times with the correct WPA2 Key.

This issue is cricical to the functionality of the router. I don't believe the router is defective at this point. I think it could possibly be a bug in the firmware.

Any help would be greately apprecited as I'm losing hair over this.

Also TL-WR820N was not able to be added to the "Model" section of the thread. I selected a random model just to post this thread.

Thank you.

@Aryx just bought an Archer A10 AC2600 and just had this issue today. My devices get kicked off after idling and seems to be incorrect password keeps coming up. I have only had the issue today, a reboot set it right but I just bought this router a few days ago and had returned a P.O.S. Netgear for similar reasons. I am hoping I don't have to go onto my third router as I am running out of options that are well supported in my price range.

Firmware is up to date.

@toyotasupra97

Hello, sorry to respond late. Do you use Archer A10 to get internet now?

Do all devices have the same issue--failed to connect to the Wi-Fi due to "incorrect password"?What are these devices and their OS version?

Have you ever tried to customize the wireless settings to optimize the wireless performance? Like wireless channel, wireless password?

What is the current hardware and firmware version as well?

Thanks a lot.
