Model: Archer MR200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 0.9.1 1.2 v004a.0 Build 180502 Rel.53881n

Hi i bought this router 2016, for a short time the tower nearby got upgrade to 4g+ and have a transfer rate 330mbits.

The question is even if the router has a limit of 150mbits in download and 50 mbits in upload can he recieve 4g+ and get atleast the full 150 mbits and better ping ? Or im only able to connect to 4g even if i use a external lte antenna wich support 4g+ ?

In case if not able to support 4g+ does a custom rom could fix that ?

@Deam

Hello, it is related to the hardware of the MR200, the antenna which supports 4G+ won't affect it.

Below is the network type supported by MR200 V1.

Network Type: 4G: FDD-LTE Cat4 (800/900/1800/2100/2600MHz) TDD-LTE (2300/2600MHz) 3G: DC-HSPA+/HSPA+/HSPA/UMTS (900/2100MHz) 2G: EDGE/GPRS/GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz)

May it help and have a nice day.

@Kevin_Z Hello and thanks for your answer. Sorry i didnt understand correctly your point.

The Tower send 4g+ with the same frequencies 800mhz, 1800mhz and 2100mhz. According to wiki 4g+ should be backward compatible to 4g.

Can i get then the more stability and reduced latency from 4g+ over 4g even then my maximal download speed is locked at 150mbits because of cat4 ?

@Deam

Archer MR200 is a 4G router, not 4G+; So it can negotiate the sim card up to 4G only. Now only the Archer MR600 is a 4G+ router.

The antenna is used to receive/transfer signal, to some extent, it is good for the performance of the router. While the most important part is the router itself.

Good day.
