Model: RE205
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.1 Build 20171218 Rel. 50791(6985)

Hello,

My router (Vodafone TG3442DE) has default gateway 192.168.0.1, if that's any importance (I think that is)

I've setup the RE205 correctly, but when it's on default settings (DHCP server: Auto) it can't get an IP address (it says Internet status: Unknown) so any device that connects to it cannot get internet connection.

I've disabled 5Ghz and only using 2.4Ghz. SSID is different than the router. The lights are all blue. Tether app says distance from the router is just right. There's always internet when connected to the main router.

When I set DHCP server to off, I cannot connect to the extender so I had to reset my extender.

When I set DHCP server: on and configure it with:

IP address pool: 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.199

Address lease time: 120

Default gateway: 192.168.0.1

Primary dns: 8.8.8.8

Secondary dns: 8.8.4.4

Devices can connect to internet, but after some time, devices cannot connect to the extender (the warning when trying to connect says incorrect password or unable to connect, with no further info). When I unplug and replug the extender (essentially rebooting it) the extender starts working again, until stopping working after some time again.

How can I solve this issue so I don't need to reboot this thing 3-4 times a day?

Thanks!

@bonc

Hello, what is the light status of the RE205 when you lost connection?

In the meantime, please connect your computer to the RE205 by ethernet cable to check whether you can get internet and click here to verify the IP address and gateway. Please show us a screenshot of the status-details page.

After that, try to ping the gateway of the main router which is 192.168.0.1.

Try to move it closer to the main router or change some wireless settings of the main router to giv eit a go.

Good day.
