Mesh Technology switch
M9 Plus (fw 1.3.0) and M5 (fw 1.3.1) both have a switch 'Mesh Technology' for each connected device. It states: "Disabling this option will turn off seamless roaming between Decos for this device".
When I enable this option for a specific device, then this device still connects with mulitple Deco units. Can you please explain more what this switch 'Mesh Technology' does? Thank you!

Like mentioned on the Deco app, with Mesh Technology option disabled, the seamless roaming between Decos for this device will be turned off. That is to say, once you disabled the mesh technology, the Deco won't suggest the clients to roam seamlessly between Decos, while if the client itself wants to do that, the seamless roaming won't be affected.
On the other hand, if you enabled this option, this device will connect to the multiple Decos due to the signal strength. So it is normal.
Good day.

First, it is correct,.
Second, it is possible, you can disable the mesh technology for the specific device; even though we mentioned that the clients are still able to connect to different Decos, please notice that the premise is that the signal strength obtained by it is not good; while for the non-moving device, usually, they can get a good and stable signal from the certain device, therefore, they won't switch to connect to other Decos.
May it help and have a nice day.

I am sorry I don't understand fully.
#1: So, with Mesh Technology disabled, devices (that stay at the same position and don't move at all) can still connect with different Deco units. But that is determined by the device itself and not the Deco network. Correct?
#2: Ideally, I want certain non-moving devices to connect with a specific Deco unit and stick to that Deco unit. Is this possible?
