@EMerks

The best you can do now, is check the app and see what it says for connection type between each node. But if it's the first connection, do it in the same room and with wireless.

Mine have been stable lately. But I was able to create an ethernet connection between the main Deco and the farthest node via a coaxial bridge. Had I know about such technology originally, I would have got the M4 only.

@TP-Link_Deco

Running the newest firmware 1.1.1 Build 20200812

3-pack P9

Please give us back the option/hack to disable/force the backhaul via wifi ???

- via telnet, ssh or local web-access ?

From reading all these "interesting stories", it looks like the problem with proper selection/performance, if the P9 can connect via either wifi or plc, is FAR FROM OVER??? :-( :-(

  • I too have big issues with unstable connection on one of my P9 AP's, that seems to have both wifi-backhaul and plc-backhaul...

  • My other AP, connected via Ethernet back to the P9 router, seems to have NO problems ;-)

PS: And we are also missing the possibility to have devices "go for" the 5 GHz connection, if it has fairly good signal strenght.

Once the devices "fall-back" to the 2.4 GHz, it seems to be "stuck" on that band - causing a far slower connection... :-/

With ethernet backhaul between the main Devo and the farthest Deco, it works reliably for me now. And in Access Point mode, which was unusable before.

All in all, big improvement.

@jpasan  hi jpasan. With the new firmware can you force the units to only use power line for the traffic between units?

I don't think so. I don't see any apparent differences. I haven't had the need lately though.

@Torben.H

Hello, sorry for any trouble caused by the Deco P9 network. While the latest firmware is 1.1.2 Build 20200918 Rel. 74476 now, can you please update your Deco P9 first to this version and monitor again?

BTW, there is no telnet or SSH that we can provide to disable the Wi-Fi Backhaul now, but we have noted this request and we will push the developers to investigate and improve or add this feature on the Deco app.

Thanks for your understanding.

Please put all configurations on the Web Page itself. Much better than apps to do any real configuration changes

Hello, sorry for any trouble caused by the Deco P9 network. While we have optimized the PLC backhaul on the latest firmware is 1.1.2 Build 20200918 Rel. 74476 now, can you please update your Deco P9 first to this version and monitor again?

Thanks for your understanding.
