Tether app doesn't support WR841N
Hi everyone, just joined this forum. I accidentally discovered tether app on Google play and decided to give it a try. I searched for compatible list online, and found information that my tp-link 841n is supported. It says version 9*, my router version is 9.2 but the app still says that device is not supported.
Is there any solution to this problem, or it's just a misinformation of 841N support?

What is the current firmware version of your router?
Please ensure that you have connected your smart phone to the TL-WR841N's wifi;
Try to change another phone or reinstall the Tether app to give it a go as well.
Good day.

According to the compatibility list, the TL-WR841N V9.2 should support Tether app.
Please confirm that the router works in wireless router mode or access point mode.
And please connect your smart phone to the TP-Link wifi and verify whether it can detect the router.
Besides, you can show us a picture of the back label of the router.

Hello and thanks for your reply.
I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but I believe the router should work as WiFi access point. Its my only router at home, and I have my isp cable connected to it, and all my wifi devices are connected to it and can access Internet. My phone is connected to the router right now, everything seem to work as it should?
I'm including the info from router's sticker and tether app screenshot. I'm from Russia, so the sticker is in Russian, but it clearly says the model number and version in the top right.

Yes, it was the old firmware version incompatible with the Tether app, which is unsurprising. I bought the router years ago and never updated it's firmware.
So, I've just updated it, and now everything works as it should, the app recognized the router. I wonder how long is Tether around, as I discovered it just now, and my old router is supported, which is great!
Thanks for your help Kevin_Z!

Haha, great to know that you figured it out finally.
Now you can use the Tether app to manage it.
Best regards.
