Unbelievable that tp-link do not solve the issue. Only explanation is that it is hardware issue. I've tried everything. Moving "a little bit" the P9 or change plug or cable are not acceptable solutions for random internet deconnection.

My setup is :

high speed modem (fibre)

main P9 connected in access point to it (tried router, same issue)

I've assigned static ip for the 3 P9

I've tried with and without itinerance...

When I ping the main P9 which is...at 3 meters :

64 bytes from 192.168.1.98: icmp_seq=4 ttl=64 time=6.957 ms

64 bytes from 192.168.1.98: icmp_seq=5 ttl=64 time=16.047 ms

ping: sendto: No route to host

Request timeout for icmp_seq 6

Request timeout for icmp_seq 7

@JR4

On my side, I keep having the same problem. Today I managed to capture logs just before I had the outage. Seems that the Deco is losing the IP address. @TP-Link_Deco  Any Clue?

I started getting those issues too with the wifi dropping... only had the units for like 8 months.. really thinking of moving to something more robust , like asus zenwifi units..

the app is UNBEARABLE, it keeps saying im not connected and i cant do anything with it... the web interface hangs at password input and wont go in.. jeez.

@Idan345   @deco44

Hello all, apologies for the super late reply. If you still encounter any disconnect issue with your Deco P9, please confirm the below and we will try to help you out ASAP:

1. May I have your detailed network topology/layout? What’s the operation mode of the Deco P9, is it in router mode and the WAN connection type is PPPoE or Dynamic IP? On the Deco APP, please tap “More “in the bottom right corner then go to “Advanced”, where you will see the working mode.
2. Can you please confirm how many Deco P9 units are connected, via wireless or PLC? You may confirm it as below:
On the Deco app, click on the Internet icon, then click on one of the satellite Deco, and you will see the satellite Deco’s signal source. If there is a Wi-Fi icon on the signal source, it means the satellite Deco is using the Wi-Fi backhaul. If there is a Powerline icon, it means the satellite Deco is using PLC backhaul. Please ensure that both the two Deco P9 units are plugged into the wall socket directly but not to power extensions.
3. How often does the disconnection issue happen and how do you make it back to work? When the internet drops, how about the LEDs on all the P9s, are all flashing red?

Below are some suggestions you can give it a go.
1. Relocate the Deco nodes, ensure they can connect to each other without an issue.
2. Swap the locations of the Deco, setup one satellite Deco to the main Deco.
3. Ensure the firmware of all the Deco P9s is up-to-date.

Thank you a lot.

@TP-Link_Deco

Having the same issue. My connection is crashing at least 2 or 3 times per week. Not only the connection but also the speed is intermittent. The only way to solve it is turn off and on again the deco.

And it is not my internet provider because when I get connected with the modem/router directly I get normal speed.

I had some terrible times with it when the system crashed during important meetings... Is becoming really annoying.

Please advise a permanent solution. I did not paid quite expressive money to have that kind of user experience.

My device is still under the TP Link warranty, so in last case I will assess that to get another TP solution or my money back to go for another company service.

@Zulafein

Hello, thanks for reporting this issue to the community, don't worry, we will try to figure it out.

Just to confirm, how many Deco P9s do you have in total and how are they connected to each other? When the internet drops, how about the LED status, flashing red or solid green?

When the internet drops, are the devices connected to the main Deco or the satellite unit, 2.4GHz or 5GHz? What if you connect to the main Deco?

BTW, who is your ISP? Is the Deco working as a router or an access point? Try to change it to the other working mode if possible.

Good day.

i am having the exact same issue as @Dtrigleth. I have assigned static IP and changed main deco unit with another. The problem occurs when i move room, i always maintain a strong wifi connection but the internet connection drops. I have to restart my wifi to get an internet connection.

I have 3 deco P9's in 280 sq metre home.

the wifi coverage is not an issue, but the dropping of the internet connection is a pain.
