Model: AC50
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 3.15.3 Build 180114 Rel 39265n

Firstly........ hello fellow TP link enthusiasts :)

I have a TP Link archer C7 V2 and am trying to update the firmware to the latest version.

I am not sure what region my C7 is from, because it doesn't have (US) or (EU) on the sticker on the back, but here is a photo of the stick on the back:

Here is a photo of the firmware I am currently on

I went to the TP link download centre and found the latest verion for my Archer C7

The latest formware file is called "ArcherC7v2_en_eu_3_15_3_up_boot(180305).bin"

I tried to update the firmware from the routers web interface several times but I keep getting an error message that says:

" Error code: 18005 Upgrade unsuccessfully because the version of the upgraded file was incorrect. Please check the file name."

Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? Am I even trying to flash the correct firmware?

Any help much appreciated

Thanks guys

EDIT: I have an Archer C7, not an AC50, but the thread didnt have the option to select Archer C7

@Irish_Guy

The Archer C7 is selectable.

Back to your case, it is Archer C7 V2, firmware version is 180114; I confirmed and found that it is the US version, while the 180305 is the EU version. They are not compatible with each other; that is the reason why you get the error message.

In one word, the current firmware is the latest one already, you do not have to upgrade it.

May it help.
