Hi,
Is there a way to create another wireless wifi point 5ghz or 2.4?
I down want to use the same ssid with both 2.4 and 5.
Since theres a speed issue in mt case 5ghz much faster and a lot of my wireless devices are already connected to 2.4 with deferent ssid.legacy things or devices that not support 5 google home.alexa smart bulbs etc...
The guest network can give the solution but seems like its an isolated network and not working properly.

It's weird, you say this feature isn't added "yet" in 2019, and here we are in 2022 and it still isn't here.
I think that makes the message a little misleading.. It's really inconveniet this still isnt a thing yet

I registered an account just to say this is absolutely ASININE that this is not a standard feature, and even more ridiculous that this hasn't been addressed for several years. It's 2022. Get with it. I ordered a system today, but I'm going to refuse delivery based on this lack of ability. So dumb.

@Eladeb I agree this is ridiculous. We just went along with the standard setup as most of our devices were 5GHz compatible. Then we got some Smart Lights and they only use 2.4GHz. Need to use Android/IOS app to setup the &*() bulbs, so had to set cell to different WiFi network to configure bulbs at 2.4 GHz.
Totally ludicrous. Cell with Google Assistant is setup for TPLink WiFi network connection normally so have to switch to other WiFi network to manage bulbs, then back to TPLink.
We've had the TPLink for 3 to 4 years so I think I'll just scrap it and get the Netgear Mesh setup.
I've been 40 years in the IT industry, and used to recommend TPLink to my SMB and home clients but not any more. Products seem inferior to Netgear, DLink etc. and support has REALLY slipped the past 3 years or so.

@MikeCNS yeah, problem here is a PS5 which for some reason always uses 2.4GHz if available, so download speeds are like 100Mbps instead of 1000Mbps. Disabling 2.4GHz is the only way (with this ridiculous router) to force it to use 5GHz. But then what about devices that don't support 5GHz?

jmap You could enable guest nework for 2.4ghz devices only and Most dual-band devices that support both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz will automatically pick a band based on different factors like signal strength and guidance from the mesh Wi-Fi system. So PS5 decides to connect to 2.4ghz on its own choice and Deco just provided two available solutions. and I am sure not all your devices behave the same right?
MikeCNS Deco doesn't support different SSID names but it could disable 2.4ghz and 5ghz separately. during the setup of smart home devices, temporarily turning off 5ghz is suggested. And Netgear Orbi as well as Amazon Eero and Google nest Mesh routers did not support separate 2.4 from 5ghz either. “One Network” is very common in MESH networks in order to enjoy seamless roaming, which is different from non-mesh traditional routers that require you to manually connect to the band you want.

This is a real problem. Many of the devices that I need to connect only work on 2.4GHz band and get confused and/or won't connect to a combined channel. Looking to find out how to address but if I don't figure out something, this is going back.

You are wrong. My Google/Nest WiFi definitely allows differentiated SSIDs in the mesh network. I am going to have to return these S5s because they will not allow me to do the same.

So is this still true? I've wasted $500 bucks on a useless product?
Trying to create a mesh network from my Fritzbox. I need seperate SSIDs for 5GHz and 2.4GHZ for home automation projects.
Am I really stuck with a useless $500+ product that cannot do this? Ffs Completly unacceptable!

@Rhyhthm_Robber I'm returning my deco xe75 mesh system for the same reason. They should have provided an option to set up 2.4 & 5 GHz bands separately.
