Getting slow download speed using ethernet from TP-Link Archer C6
Hello,
I recently bought a new TP-Link Archer C6 AC1200 Wireless MU-MIMO Gigabit Router for my new 100 Mbps connection. I'm getting great speed over wifi @ 5GHz mode. But when my PC is connected to the router using ethernet. For some wierd reason my download speed is very slow but my upload speed is alright.
I wanted to make sure that my ISP has no issues. So I even tested the speed results from my old TL-WR841N V11 router. Using my old router I got a good speed for both download and upload speeds.
Now all the test were done while wifi was turned off and all tests were done on same server. Also one wirless test done on 5Ghz network.
Here are the speed check results.
TP-Link Archer C6

Hi Kevin,
Got a couple of tp link routers at home the same one c6 ac1200 MU-MINO but there's seems to be a problem with one specific one. I am unable to get 300mbps wirelessly on my MacBook pro and iPhone but I'm getting good speeds on my android phone. I have tried changing to 1000mbps full duplex but that doesn't solve any issues. everything else is the same as other routers. Do let me know what I can do to get the desired speed.
Regards
Yuenkee

Hello, how about the link speed between the MacBook and the C6 when it is connected? Is it connected to 5G network or 2.4G? Follow this guide to find it out:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2265/
Be sure you understand that the advertised speed is a maximum potential combined link rate. It is not the internet speed you will see. For 5GHz specifically, the maximum possible Link rate is 867 Mbps, and 2.4GHz is 300Mbps. You have to consider the band you are on, the capabilities of the client device's network adapter, the distance from the router and the computer, and any interference or congestion you are experiencing. If you can provide more details we would be happy to help look into your concern.
Regarding the wireless speed, please follow the guide to modify the wireless settings:
