Implemented Having to run Kasa and Tapo app for different devices
I have an HS100 smart plug and two
Kasa Spot cameras working on the Kasa app.
I have recently purchased two P100 smart sockets but I can't add these to the Kasa app, I have to use the Tapo app which is a really pain in the rear as I would prefer everything in the same place. O also prefer the layout of the Kasa app.
Does anyone know why the P100 isn't available.on the Kasa app? It isn't even listed as a model when creating this post.

Just download the Alexa app, add the tapo and Kasa skills to the Alexa app and link all your tapo and kasa smart devices to Alexa. Then you will be able control all from one app and can use voice commands too.

Adding another disgruntled customer's voice to this thread. Trying to run a smart home is difficult enough without manufacturers asking you to run two *incompatible* apps. The failure to think about backwards compatibility and integration with leading smart hubs (not just alexa) is staggering. My bulbs will be going back for a refund.

Good day.
Thank you very much for all your concern about this case.
We truly got your feelings and sincerely feel sorry for the inconvenience.
It has been reported to the related department already but it might take quite a long time to get these two APPs united;
Sorry again for the trouble.
Thanks a lot for your understanding and support.

I was surprised when I understood that for using my new Tapo smart plug had to download a new app apart from Kasa that I already use with my other smart plugs and lamps and soon cameras. I didn't believe reading previous answers of administrators to this topic.
Guys in Tp Link, we trust the name from so many products before smart home gadgets and its a frustration to use a new app, too many. If you are forced to do that you simply could try sth from another manufacturer.
Maybe its a different line, a different market, partnership whatever for you is the problem, we as a customer like to have one official united full fuctionable app for all your products. Any other approach seems roughly made. Many other brands dont follow this rule, customers don't take them seriously.
Tapo seems much better than Kasa, it will be nice to join them (or give the opportunity to both use all product line).

Same issue here. Deliberately bought TP Link as I already have the app, but new bulb doesn't work with old bulbs' app. Ridiculous. I wonder if there's a third-party app that will tie it all together so there's no need for kasa or tapo and we're not then tied to buying TP Link in the future? Maybe Alexa or Google apps will do it? As they already work through voice control with these 3rd party systems? Anyone have any tips?

Please provide feedback to your company, I wanted to buy more smart plugs and wall switches and will now shop your competition.
The reason I wanted TP-Link was a unified experience from a trusted brand with a good app. This is terrible. This kind of cost-cutting or terrible programming is what will lose you market share to your competition.

Adding my voice to this as a disgruntled Customer.
Originally had smart plugs that run with Kasa now bought additional smart plugs that only run on Tapo. Expected them to work on the same app because they're both TP – link. Total farce that I have to use two different apps.
Whoever's idea this was is a total idiot.
