Model: TL-PA7020P KITx
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 3.2.4_702113_170628_903

How can I connect the TL-PA7020P-Kit to the DECO P9 through powerline? Using the PLC utility, when adding a device, we must have a Powerline Device Key. The DECO P9 Devices don't have this key written anywhere. Surely they must "talk" to each other. That's what "HomePlug AV2 Standard" mean, right?

I bougth the P9 in order to connect them to the existing PA7020P.

Hello, the powerline of Deco P9 is for backhaul only, it cannot pair with other powerline adapters to build up the same powerline network.

While you still can use them together. For example, the Deco P9 works as the regualr wireless router, and you can connect the main adapter to the Deco P9 and then pair it with the other powerline adapter to boost the network.

May it help.

@Kevin_Z

First of all, "Accepted Solution" by Who?

Second, why do you say in the product specs Standard HomePlug AV2 if it doesn't suport that standard even with your own products?

Look more like a proprietary protocol to me.

You even anounced it as Powerline: HomePlug AV2 1000Mbps

This is not Powerline.

Remove it from the specs. You're misleading your customers

@PCasalinho

Hello, the powerline of Deco P9 is for backhaul only;  compared to traditional mesh system, Deco P9 and Deco P7 supports powerline backhaul;

PLC Backhaul will be established automatically after P9 units are connected through Wi-Fi and two or more units are plugged into the same grid. Therefore, with the long distance between the Deco units and poor wifi environment, the PLC backhaul can help to improve the mesh network stabilization.

We have received similar inquiry before, and this reply can answer their questions, that is why I marked it as the accepted solution, it is advertised to improve the stabilization and performance of the whole mesh wifi system, not to pair with powerline adapters.  Anyway, we are sorry for the inconveninece caused; and we will forward it to the marketing department.

Good day.

@PCasalinho I agree, this is entirely misleading! It should clearly state "Backhaul via HomePlug AV2". Forget about sending it to your marketing department, send this to your legal department.
