Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.2 Build 20190624 Rel. 59384

I have installed Deco M5 as follows:

Cujo Firewall is connected to ISP Router in Bridge Mode

Deco M5 configured in AP mode (thius losing some good functionality)

It all works...

Questions: Does Deco M5 firewall and anti-virus do the same job (same or better) than Cujo? if so do I unplug Cujo and run with Deco M5 only in DHCP mode?

My priority of course is not to compromise security.

I will appreciate any insight and advice.

Thanks

Jake

@jake_decom5

Hello Jake, thanks for your requestings.

For your information, the antivirus feature of the Deco M5 and the external firewall won't affect each other; they can be used simultaneously.

And you mentioned the ISP router works in bridge mode and Deco works in AP mode, does bridge mode means that it still works as the router mode with DHCP server on but disabled the wifi function?

If you want to use the advanced feature of Deco M5, you can setup ISP router as bridge mode, and configure Deco as router mode; then you can connect the cujo firewall to it.

May it help.

@Kevin_Z thanks for your response.

Bridge Mode means that ISP Router is the DHCP Server and anyhting downstream of CUJO must have DHCP switched off p- that's why you lose functionality in Deco M5.

How do you switch Cujo into Router Mode?

Thanks
