TL-WA855RE PROBLEMS
I recently purchased 2 TP-Link Range Extenders (TL-WA855RE).
They are operating as Access Point (i.e. Wired Ethernet to my existing WiFi Router). Each AP has its own SSID, I'm setting Channel to avoid overlapping and 20MHz width. They are set to WPA/WPA2 Auto/Auto
I'm having issues where the AP's are working, able to connect one moment and then starts to get authentication failure....... end up having to rebook them to get working again.
Any idea's before I send them back?

Hello, what about the performance of the TL-WA855RE after you upgraded the firmware?
If still the same, try to unplug one of them and verify the stability of the network connection of the other unit.
Good day.

I see, thanks for your valued reply.
For the DHCP server, the TL-WA855RE supports smart DHCP, it will be the DHCP server if it does not detect other DHCP server in the same network, vice versa;
Definitely, you can disable the DHCP server and assign a static IP for it within the same range as the main router.
You can take more time to test the performance. Finger crossed.

I'm still having connection failures, seems to be authentication failures. Only way to resolve seems to be power recycle.
I have various fixed devices (cameras and smart plugs/switches) then mobile devices (Samsung Android Phones/Tablets, iPhones and Microsoft tablet).
You recommended "to unplug one", this is not as easy due to the fixed devices.
Before I go down that path is there anything else?
At moment
Router in basement SSID is on channel 11
Extender on 1st Flr SSID is on channel 6
Extender on 2nd Flr SSID is on channel 2
Would it be worth increasing channel gaps between extenders.... so Router on 6 and 1st Fr Extender on 11?
Thanks,
Mark

I've purchased a tp-link AC1750 Range Extender............ will be sending back 1 of the TL-WA855RE to Amazon, the other is outside its return period so looks like will need to swallow that purchase.
Hopefully the AC1750 will behave better and maybe will not need 2nd Extender............if I need a 2nd I'll get another AC1750

Hello, sorry to respond late due to the Chinese Spring Festival and Coronavirus issue.
What about the current performance of the AC1750? Does it work well?
If need more help, be free to let me know.
Good day.

Had no issues since installing the AC1750 and not needed the extra TL-WA855RE that was past return date.
Cheers,
Mark
