I bought one of these smart plugs so I could turn our WiFi on and off to help control our kids addiction to gaming . I linked it with home WIFI but when I turned off I could not restart . I called the call center but struggled to understand the assistant , how can I turn a light of in our house from foreign lands but not the router ? Any ideas how I can do this in plain English please ?

Set a on time say 30 min from now, then set a off time 1 min from now.

For the next 30 min your router will be powered off.

During that time no device can use the network.

After the 30 min is up the router should be back and all is usable again.

You can set up a schedule to turn on/off the plug, when the router is off, this plug will show offline on the Kasa app and it is out of control, but the schedule still works. When your router back on, the plug will be online again.
