Hello,

Recently i bought TD-W8968 to replace my existing modem for a better wireless coverage.

However after i installed new modem dsl connection gets lost in every 15-20mins. I upgraded to latest firmware but it didn't help.

It seems it is a very common problem with this modem. At least in my country. I saw many posts in many forums about the issue. Arguments with the local dealers etc.

Local dealers say its snr margin problem but adsl providers says its okay and it's a common problem with tp-link and use another modem. Also other brand modems never disconnects. Will there be any firmware update soon about that issue. What can be the solution to that problem. I will share your replies in local forums too.

When the connection gets lost, what is the status of the ADSL LED light and other lights ? What is the internet speed your ISP provides you ?

Last time i checked when the connection lost adsl light was on but the internet light was off.

I have 8mbit contract but generally i get 6-7mbit speed downloads.

Yes my old modem is stable and never disconnects. Other people from the forums tells the same story.


Today when i checked modem during disconnects. i saw for the first time SNR margin was flactuating 1,5 to 9 and as soon as i plug in my old modem its stable to 11-13 and connection is stable.

Any ideas?

hi buntaran, what's your ADSL bandwidth which is provided by ISP? from the pictures, the bandwidth is 1.2 Mbps?

hi,
who's your ISP?
when connection hangs, what the status of the ADSL light? on? off? flashing? if off, maybe the telephone line has some problem.
at that time, you can login on the modem ,snapshot the modem status page and save the system log, if possible, you can post them here.
