Hello, the firmware need match its hardware version and country version both.
The current one is EU version, that is why you failed to install the MY one.
Theoretically, the firmware won't affect the performance even though you use the unifi fiber service.
May I know is there any special settings need to be done on the Archer C7?
Good day.

hi, im assuming there are some 'unifi' settings that i need to select in the filmware that is not available in the current filmware, because i cant get the router to work under the ppoe current settings... i've googled and seen other forums where they need to install a certain filmware for it to work, but i cant find any other 'unifi' filmware aside from here.

Thanks for your information. I got it now.
Considering the firmware does not match, we can find another solution to fix it.
As my knowledge, we need enable IPTV settings to make internet work with unifi fiber modem; you can enable the IPTV and fill in the relates configuration parameters to give it a go. You can contact the tech support of Unifi to get these information.
Besides, you can connect your computer to the unifi fiber modem directly and setup the PPPoE connection on PC itself to verify whether it works. Instruction listed as below:

May it help.

i've tried multiple settings to get it to work, but it doesnt... the pppoe connection definitely works, as it stil functions with another modem.and im currently using the internet connection to type this... but... when i try to set my archer c7 v2 to pppoe, to replace the current one, it doesnt work...
apparently need some special "unifi" settings to get it setup?... but i dont think those "special" settings are available in this particular filmware.... :(
