Model: TL-WA901ND
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 3.16.9 Build 160929 Rel.37753n

I have an existing ethernet and wifi network setup through a bluecurve router.

I am trying to extent the existing wifi network to increase the wifi range. I need the SSID to remain the same, and the device to be able to connect to the strongest wifi network.

Is this possible with this device? I have contacted support but only get the generic emails in return, none of which are helpful.

I am trying to link a wireless printer onto a wired network in an area where the original wifi range can not reach. A separate SSID will work, but I then can't connect to the printer over the network. I've used the setup wizard, but it prompts to create a new ssid and password through the ap bridge setup.

Any ideas???

@Jess1972

Hello, do you want to connect the TL-WA901ND to the main router by wired cable to boost wifi signal or connect to it by wifi?

If you want to connect them via wired cable, you can configure the TL-WA901ND as the access point mode.

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1603/

Otherwise, you can follow the instruction below to configure it as a range extender.

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1604/

And you are able to customize the wireless settings: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/399/

May it help.
