Problem of Deco m5
I have some problem with my deco M5.
The main deco is V3.0 and others is V3.0 and V2.1, firmware is 1.3.14 Build 20191109 Rel. 66552.
But in web UI, I found the deco m5 which is V2.1 shows model (V1.0), is that normal or correct?
But when the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz is auto changing, the internet will be unstable, also will be cut off.
When sys log appear user.info root: luci_app:guest-eth guest network need set vlan state fals, the internet will be unstable....
Does these problems have been fixed in firmware 1.4.2?
Thx a lot!

The different hardware versions of Deco M5 share the same firmware; and the web UI displays firmware version, cause they are the same, the hardware version shows V1.
You mentioned that the connection is unstable when the channel changed itself automatically and the log popped up; may I know how do you know that? Any specific time?
Besides, could you please provide more information about the unstable connection issue, we can do further analysis and try to fix it.
1. What is the current network diagram?
2. What is the led status of the Deco M5 when you lost connection? How do you make it back to work after that?
3. At that time, with computer connected to the main Deco directly, can you access internet? Try to simplify the network diagram, in other words, connect the main Deco to the modem only and then connect your computer to the main Deco to verify whether it works well.
4. If still the same, please connect the computer to the modem, bypass the main Deco to test whether the network works.
5. Besides, you can try to relocate them and swap the locations of Deco units.
Thanks in advance, and have a nice day.

Cause everytime the channel changed itself automatically or the internet is unstable, I go to check log and I found that information everytime in that timing.
no specific time, that's why I feel very strange....
Besides, could you please provide more information about the unstable connection issue, we can do further analysis and try to fix it.
1. What is the current network diagram?
Modem---> Deco m5 1 F(main deco) -- Deco m5 2F
-- Deco m5 3F
2. What is the led status of the Deco M5 when you lost connection? How do you make it back to work after that?
led always green....when I lost connection
sometimes I switch AP mode and router mode, It will become normal after I do that.
3. At that time, with computer connected to the main Deco directly, can you access internet? Try to simplify the network diagram, in other words, connect the main Deco to the modem only and then connect your computer to the main Deco to verify whether it works well.
I treid it before, but still can't access internet. Now it's more stable, when I replace V3.0 deco m5 to my main deco (before is V2.1). It work stable now, so implify the network diagram still need? Cause I tried at first and it's not change anyting....
4. If still the same, please connect the computer to the modem, bypass the main Deco to test whether the network works.
I have Archer C9 router too, but this situation only happens in Deco m5.
In other words, I doubt it's problem of deco m5?
5. Besides, you can try to relocate them and swap the locations of Deco units.
I will try it.
thank you for your advising.

I'm coming back with updates and other solutions I've tried. I am still experiencing at least 1-2x daily wifi disconnections.
Just some basic facts before i explain:
- Have 3x Deco M5s
- Access Point Mode
- Main Deco is connected via ethernet to my ASUS RT-AC88U
Network Map: ONT >> ASUS RT-AC88U >> main Deco M5 (ethernet) >> Deco M5 #2 (wireless) >> Deco M5 #3 (wireless)
The solutions I've tried by didn't work:
1. Swapping out main Deco m5s
I tried swapping my main Deco m5 with another one. Did not work. Wifi disconnections still persist with the same frequency (about 1-2x a day).
2. Removing all DHCP IP assignment to devices on my ASUS RT-AC88U.
I thought maybe the main router's IP assignment was confusing the Deco M5. However problems still persist. Nothing solved.
3. Switched Deco M5 to ROUTER mode.
Now this solved the problem. I went through 2 days without any WIFI disconnects. But this is NOT IDEAL. My other devices connected via ethernet to my main ASUS RT-AC88U router, cannot be found on my devices connected via wifi. Why? Because they're on a different subnet mask. And Deco M5 does NOT support DHCP (why??). So i have to go back to AP mode on my Decos.
4. Assigning wifi devices to specific Decos This didn't work properly on the app. And it does not stay. I have many wifi devices (at least 20) in the apartment running at any one time. I tried to assign devices to different Decos, but the app or Decos won't remember it. Also, wifi disconnection problem persists.
I am out of options.
I'm really regretting getting the Deco M5.
If ONLY there's DHCP enabled on Deco M5...
