Model: TL-WPA8630P KIT
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.4 Build 170327 Rel.74918n (from the web admin interface)

Hello

Is there a firmware update available? If so, where can I find it, please?

btw - there's another firmware version number in the tpPLC utility as follows: 2.0.0.382-05_863111_160225_901

Thanks.

@HughPugh

The current firmware for TL-WPA8630P is the latest one already.

What is the model number of the second device which you gave its firmware? You can find it on the tpPLC utility or the actual device.

Besides, may I know why do you want to upgrade the firmware?

@Kevin_Z

Thanks for the reply. I'm just doing a periodic check to make sure components in my network are as up to date as they can be.

Both the numbers come from the same unit. One is via the tpPLC utility and the other from the web interface. Screenshots below.

@HughPugh

Thanks for your information. The firmware for the TL-WPA8630P is the latest one already.

You can try to update the firmware of TL-PA8010P by clicking the download link below:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/tl-pa8010p-kit/v1/#Firmware

Note: Please verify the hardware version first.

Good day.

@Kevin_Z

I got worse performance on the WPA8630 kit than a WPA7510 kit on the same sockets, so if a firmware update would fix that, it would be nice.

Actually I moved the WPA8630 to another apartment and I'm getting really low speeds. Around 100/300 download/upload. I can't even make full usage of my 100 MBit Fiber connection.

Plus the promised OneMesh would be nice. I might risk getting a router to replace the crappy one installed by the ISP, like this no.
