@andrew456

The Deco does not support choosing signal source manually, we have noted that and will keep an eye on similar feedback and will forward it to the Product Department.

Back to your case, it seems that the signal strength get from the main Deco does not reach the threshold valued, therefore, it failed to trigger the AP/Band steering; you can move them further away from each other to give it a go.

I found a solution,

1. in the deco app click on the globe icon (says internet)

2. click on the three dots column in the top right - select "Set Main Deco"

3. Choose the main deco to be the unit in the middle of your chain and click SAVE.

4. You will see a warning that says "make sure this deco is connected to your modem or ethrenet" - IGNORE IT even if your main unit is not connected to the internet it will still work.

All your units will now connect to the new "main Deco" that is in the middle of your netwrork regardless if this is the one that is physically conected to the internet.

@Jack2222 First, is this a legit solution? I would think that the Main NEEDS to be connected to the Modem... no?

Secondly, Why would be making a different (middle) unit the Main solve the problem of devices not roaming properly? I have been stuck on my Kitchen M5 for days, even though I spend much of my day in my office where the Main and Modem live!

@kdnewman Not going to happen.

Answer from support: "Just because an option is being analyzed, this does not mean that will 100% get implemented in our line of products. For obvious reasons, we cannot implement any request from any user – this is valid also for any other company"
