Model: Archer A10
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.2 0.9.1 v1000.0 Build 190305 Rel.62969n(5553

I have a Riden RD6006-W which I want to connect to its associated android app via my TP Link Archer A10.

Problem is that it won't connect in this way.

It will connect through to the android app if instead of using my A10 I use the hotspot from a second cell phone.

I went back and forth with Riden quite a bit, they said my router needed to have isolation disabled; and I found where on my A10 AP Isolation is enabled and disabled, but disabled is the default, and whether it is enabled or disabled it will not connect.

I have tried putting the A10 in Router mode and Access Point mode - no difference in terms of this working or not.

I have also tried putting my cellphone in airplane mode, with only the wifi connection enabled - that didn't help.

The cell phone connects fine to the wifi (2.4G) as needed.

Riden is at a loss to help further - but because it works with my phone in hotspot mode they are pointing the problem to my A10.

Any suggestions would be appreciated,

@RobLatour

When you try to connect the Riden to the Archer A10 via its Android APP, can TP-Link wifi be detected? If it failed to connect to the wifi, is there any error message?

Try to change the wireless settings of Archer A10, like wireless channel and channel width. You can disable 5GHz or enable guest network 2.4GHz to give it a go.

Besides, if all other devices connect to the TP-Link wifi without any problem, and it does not help with AP isolation disabled, you can contact the tech support of Riden again to get more specific answers.

Good day.

There is no error message, but yes the app appears to connect to at least see the wifi connection. I tried changing the channel from auto to 1, it did not help. I have 5G devices so I don't want to disable that, I believe I tried the guest network and it didn't help - but can try again (I've tried many things - I am only somewhat sure I tried this). Problem is when I make certain changes the router needs to be rebooted and I become quite unpopular with my wife and son. I spent about a week back and forth with Riden, they were out of ideas; it works when connecting via a cell phone hot spot so it the issue seems to point to my TP Link router.

@RobLatour

Thanks for your valued reply.

I wanna confirm one thing first. Has the Riden RD6006-W already connected to the TP-Link wifi but cannot be found by the Android APP or it even fails to join the TP-Link wifi at all?

It is just a troubleshooting method to disable 5GHz to rule out the potential interference. Besides, you can enable the guest network and make it open, no password needed, and then test whether you can connect the Riden RD6006-W to the router.

Besides, do you have a Macbook?

Thanks a lot.

so the problem is definately with the Archer A10.  I just set up the Ridon application with another router, it work first time and fully as expected.  It does not work with the A10.

Riden seems to be saying its a problem with AP isolation. They say it needs to be turned off, but I have it turned off.  Can you confirm that there is no bug associated to it?
