Model: RE650
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.0.6

I cannot get 5 GHz from my RE650.  During troubleshooting I noticed the MAC address kept changing.  The device says it is 74:DA:88:21:79:51.  When I look at my network devices it shows up as 3 different devices - 76:DA:88:21:79:51 and 76:DA:88:65:B2:6F and 76:DA:88:01:79:52.  How can a single device have 3 MAC addresses and does this have anything to do with not being to establish 5 GHz?  My gateway/router is capable and my previous extender TP-Link RE450 received 2.4 and 5 GHz.

My ISP is AT&T and my router is a Pace Plc 5268AC.

@vinelli

Hi, is there any other wireless device connected to the RE650? The RE650 supports proxy mode, which means the MAC address displaying on the router will change slightly and there may have more than 1 mac address showing up.

And the 5GHz connection has nothing to do with the MAC address as far as I known.

You can change the wireless channel of the main router, and update the firmware to the latest one to give it a go.

Besides, what is the current led status of the RE650? Please show us a screenshot of the status page and network page on RE650.

Good day.

My firmware version is 1.0.6  Build 20180719  Rel 36926.  Is this current?  I just purchased it this week.  If not current how do I upgrade?

Many thanks,

@vinelli
