My Archer vr400 keeps dropping the connection
I've just bought my brand new archer vr400 and i setuped it with all the guideness of my ISP and intially it should me that there was a problem in the connection but finally it was setuped successfully and worked BUT with slow connection, then after 10 mins or less connection kept dropping for 2 days now and I have another router from another brand (my old one) is working fine also my ISP sent to me a technician and they found all the external line connection is fine so what is the problem now.

I moved to the Archer VR400 today from now tv Hub 2 due to the lack of ethernet ports on the now2 hub. I was getting a regular reset of the DSL connection roughly every 3 minutes on the Archer VR400 and did various changes on the device to no avail. Looking through this and various other blog posts about regular internet connection drops i thought I would share what i did which has now kept the connection stable for a few hours now.
Checking the MTU setting on the Now hub2 it was set to 1500, The default setting on the VR400 was set to 1482. I simply changed the MTU setting to match the Hub 2 and since then the connection has been stable.
Give it a try and see if you get a similar result.
To change the MTU Size you need to go through a few clicks but the general location for me is the following:
Advanced -> Network -> Internet (click modify) -> in internet connection setup menu click the second advanced drop down menu, you will see the MTU setting there, change it and click Save. you might want to do a disconnect/reconnect at this point or even a router reboot etc.
hoping this helps as I was almost ready to do an Amazon return.
for info I'm running the following version/firmware.
Firmware Version:1.3.0 0.9.1 v00a1.0 Build 201109 Rel.54507n
Hardware Version:Archer VR400 v3 00000001

@switchgl Thanks for the suggestion - unfortunately, when I try changing the value to 1500, it says "Invalid MTU value. Please input a value between 576 and 1492". I presume you didn't get this? Is yours the V2?
EDIT: Just saw yours is the V3 🤦♂️ cheers
