MR200 v1 doesn't passthrough IPSec VPN traffic
Hello.
Unfortuantely not a new problem to the MR200 V1, a problem i've been having for years with this device! - there are other threads on this forum about it.
But, its a problem tp-link has fixed in some BETA firmwares yet is a problem which seems to cause tp-link support endless problems.
I contacted support again recently, only to be told they are not aware of this problem!?
The MR200 v1 doesnt passthrough IPSec VPN traffic. Is there anyone out there using the V1 unit who has any thoughts on this?
'161026 beta' did fix the passthrough problems. After upgrading to latest '180502' it stops working again.
Several years ago, checking old emails, tp-link support said they had identifed a problem that meant passthrough didnt work if fast NAT was enabled. They had therefore made a more recent beta from 2017 (which I had been using for a long time) also fixes the passthrough issue but which I have not seen discussed anywhere else on the internet.
I am just fed up of running 'beta' firmwares, its silly there hasnt be a more recent update or better recognition from support that there is an issue. This seems to be a problem that tp-link support dont know how to deal with.

@nfg I'm having the same problem with the latest firmware.
TP-Link, it is very important to be able to connect to business VPNs, especially during these times.
Please fix it.

@nfg they replied:
"Sorry to tell there is no newer firmeware.
If the new firmware version cannot handle it, it is suggested to roll back to the beta firmware version.
Beta FW will not affect the product's function, performance, warranty and technical services. If you have any problems in the process of using beta FW, please contact us at any time, we will help him solve it, the product is broken during the warranty period-2 years, and it will still be replaced. Don't worry about that."
Well, where do they keep the beta firmwares?

@WRT Hi! i think what they mean is there is no newer for the V1 unit, but I object to buying another MR200 to get updated hardware when only the firmware is at fault. I wish tp-link were better at fixing problems.
They have to send you a link to download the beta firmware, I am still waiting for my support ticket to be answered as apparently mine was 'escalated'... but that was over a week ago now.....
