Model: RE650  
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.6

My macbook pro connects to the extender and I am getting 79 meg download and 20 meg upload speeds. Mu iphone which is next to my laptop cannot connect to the same network and occasionally when it does the speed is very slow.

 

My kids are having the same issue with ipads and their iphones.

 

Any ideas why?

@StuieB38 What's the firmware version of your RE650? Please make sure it's the latest one.

 

RE650 has the same wifi name as your router? It's suggested to have different ones.

Hi Kevin,

 

Firmware is 1.0.6 build 20180719 rel 36926

 

I only bought this last week and I assumed it updated the firmaware as part of the instalation process.

 

The name is the same as the main router but with EXT on the end...i would have throught that was enough?
