I am planning to buy TD-W9970. https://www.tp-link.com/gr/home-networking/dsl-modem-router/td-w9970/
Taking a look here: https://www.tp-link.com/gr/support/download/td-w9970/v4/ and using the emulator here: https://emulator.tp-link.com/w9970-v4-en/index.htm

Before replacing my current wireless modem/router, I would like to use TD-W9970 as a WiFi extender.
The datasheet doesn't mention WDS mode as available. Is there any equivalent mode or I shouldn't buy that modem/router?

@gzach Unfortunately V4 firmware interface doesn't have WDS setting options. I just bought that for same purpose of wireless extender (I should've checked the Emulator or DataSheet like you did, wasn't aware of them). Funny thing is V3 and V2 have the required option.

 

So ideally even V4 will support it but management console doesn't have that option and nor the USB settings options. Nor is there any firmware upgrade available or any alternate firmware from dd-wrt or tomato has a compatible version

 

I have raised query to their support to see what can be done !
