Archer MR600(EU) V1 - BETA Firmware - Allowing selection of 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually
Hi all,
Following the long thread on the same subject discssing the BETA FW, as I said I would, TPLink have given me permission to share the FW download llink.
From TPLink - We recently released a beta firmware for Archer MR600(EU) V1 which can allow us to select 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually.
https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202004/20200420/Archer_MR600v1_1.1.0_0.9.1_[200417-rel75138]_up_boot_2020-04-20_08.44.31.zip
For Archer MR600, if you want to use its 4G+network, your SIM card should support the CA bands group Archer MR400 supports. Please check the attached picture and check if your SIM card supports the band groups on the list or not.
They asked me to state that, this BETA FW is for the Archer MR600(EU) V1 ONLY!
Neither TPLink nor me take any respnsbility if you flash a none-EU router.

Hi Venky & Folks,
I am facing an strange issue & need your guidance. I already had a 4G router but I wanted high speed & bought MR600 as it support 4G+. I am using Airtel & based out of Mumbai. In my area i have 3 towers closeby. My mobile connectes with these 3 towers for CA using Band 40. I havent seen CA with Band 3 on my Mobile yet.
With beta firmware, i tried following combinaiton :
When i manually select Band 1 - 8, MR600 connects on Band 1 & shows signal strength as 75% with SNR 10.2dB. Speed is around 20-25 Mbps
When i manually select Band 3 - 8, MR600 connects on Band 3 & shows signal strength as 50% with SNR 3.4dB. Speed is around 40-45 Mbps
When i manually select Band 3 - 40, MR600 connects on Band 40 & shows signal strength as 50% with SNR 2.4dB. Speed is around 20-25 Mbps.
I am using default APN profile & ISP files.
As per the other users in forum, MR600 works well with Airtel and provides CA using Band 3 - 40. For some reason its not working for me. Do you think this can be solve by deploying external antennas? Can you share the link of your antenna which you bought from india mart? In addition to antenna i guess i will need cables as well. Please suggest type of cables + connectors which will work with MR600.
thanks in advance.

Hello,
I belive the signals are droping at indoor. If you use 2 lpda (12 dBi) antenna point towards the same tower the one yuou get the best signals would resolve the issue. How far is the twoer from your location. If it s close enough and there is no obstructions then you can fix the antenna with little hight at your tarrce or bolcony pointing towards the best tower would boost your signals to 100% and CA shall pickup both band 3 and 40. Morever the extenral antenna would help to boost the SNR vlue to around 20 dbi plus and your RSRP will comedown below -80 dB and RSRQ to below -7 db these are the best values for the voice & video calls. The speed increases when the RSRP value goes down. You can reach out to signityrf solutions .. They offered the lowest price for antenna and cables. ( LPDA 12 dbi for around 650 Rupees). You can use LMR400 cable + LMR200 cable f(or last 2 meters) as LMR400 is not thou that much flexible. The thump rule is reduce the lenth of the cable to avoid the signal loss during transmission.

@darant Hello,
No , The one you mentioned above is patch panel antenna. I have suggested LPDA Antenna (12dBI).

@Indian-techie First choose only band 3 and save (Leave the next band empty). It will get connectedt to band 3. Now, select band 40 in second band option and click save again. You will now get connected to Band 3 and Band 40. Depending on signal strength CA will work. Some times if any one band is very weak, it will give away that particular band and your MR600 will connect to only one band. Try and post pl.
