@john.awad

It is funny, i have 100% strength conection, but to be fair that is only on a single band using three UK.
I gets speeds of 100+ down and 30+ up at virtually all times of the day. Typically 30-40ms ping

Yet, i would say 10% of all web pages i load the initial request to load the page fails. I have to stop, refresh and it works perfectly.

I need to reboot almost daily, and that cures the problem for nearly 3-4 hours, but then starts coming back again.

About once or twice a week it locksup completely - this varies, sometimes it is wifi that locks up - appears to connect, but no internet connection, but wired connection works fine. Or the internet claims to be connected yet no traffic passes through for wireless or wired. Restart and away we go.

It literally is as though it gets itself backed up with something and it falls over.

I am a fairly intensive user, with Kids watching films, me working from home using constant connection, etc. But i am sure there are many more who consume more bandwidth. I would do maybe 1TB a month.

I see. If you've tried factory reset and are sure it's your hardware (and not the network itself, it's hard to gauge sometimes), I would try to get it replaced on warranty.

If you're having problems with wifi (as oppsed to wired), maybe you have a lot of wifi interference in your area (many wifis in the building, etc). Did you try 5GHz vs 2.4Ghz?

@john.awad

This is a pretty common complaint i have seen across a large number of people!
It might be dodgy hardware or firmware...

But to be fair i suspect it might be the provider too - i also wonder if it is that i only pick up one band, and randomly sometimes it thinks it has got a second that is so weak noting goes through... not sure.

But better than my VDSL at 10down, 1up... so for now i suffer through...

EDIT
Wifi, fortunately we are rural, and only my own wifi. so no contention at all there!

@Nevsie Impossible to say for sure, but given discussions on other forums about Three where people use routers from other manufacturers, I think we can be confident Three has network/congestion issues. These occasionally manifest themselves as page stalls. Even the rebooting & reconnecting has been linked to this.

I don't see it often, and am only using band 3, but it's definitely there.

Don't forget the dual band only works on 5Ghz wifi if you are using an external aerial.. I am now on EE and only ever get the same band connected (3,3) Speeds range from 40-100 down, 25-40 up.

Certainly could be congestion within the network after you have hit the mast. I assume no money is being spent there as for 5g they are building a quite new network, or so they say!

Dual band is is the antennas to the mast - that is all i am referring to. Not sure why wifi was mentioned in this, unless you mean that if you have dual band from the mast, wifi can limit the speeds it allows to pass over itself?

Interesting I didn't know that, I don't actually use the wifi on the MR600 I use it solely to get an Internet Connection and have my AmpliHD handles the Wi-Fi. I'm on EE also and only get Band 3 even though I've set it up to either 3,7 or 3,3.

@darant

I do not think this has anything to do with the mobile bands... the modem will be receiving the same speed regardless of how you connect on wifi!

What it tends to suggest is that in your instance, 5ghz is faster than 2.4ghz.

This could be down to building, layout, router position, frequency congestion, etc...

In short, 2.4ghz is way more congested than than 5ghz - note this is still just wifi, nothing to do with the mobile signal you get. It could be others near you using wifi, your other devices, even cordless phones, etc.

But yes... it could also be limitation of hardware on the router/modem, or even on your device. But pretty unlikely. My guess is congestion
