Hi I want to turn off the wifi on the 2600 router and just make it a modem.  I will have Amplifi HD system running instead.

I have been told to do the following.

@taffytimps you would need to set your TP-Link to modem-only (I think TP-Link also call it Bridge Mode). I have not used TP-Link but I am sure you can find info online. Something along these lines might help: https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/faq/1332/ Once you have done that, you will need to set your AmpliFi in PPPoE mode and enter your ISP's username and password into AmpliFi to connect it to the internet. Let me know if you need more help.

I have logged into the router, but cannot see a way to do it and the instructions at the link do not seem to apply.

Assuming this is possible can someone please confirm what I need to do and how to do it.

Many thanks,

Taff

@taffytimps

Below are links for Archer C2600, overview, specifications, support, including quick installation, user guide, firmware download and FAQs. Hope this helps with setting the router to the prefer mode. If you are in the UK, change the "us" to "uk" and the User Guide is highly recommended for review.

@Godzilla sorry that is just a general overview and doesn't provide a detailed walkthrough of the task I need to accomplish.

@taffytimps

The support/download link has the manual User Guide (UG) that you can download the review. User Guide cannot include settings and details for all ISPs in the region. From reviewing the original posting, "bridge mode", this information is present the the User Guide PDF, that is downloadable, searchable, possibly viewable in browser too.

Sorry didn't see the download at first. Do you mean the part about setting up an ipv6 internet connection and selecting pass through bridge as the option. If i know this is the correct thing I'll give it a go.

@taffytimps I've put the amplifihd router in bridge mode as easier. I believe this should stop conflicts and i will have to wifi networks. Tplink and amplifi. I will plug my office cable back into the tp link and get rid of the wifi extenders. Not quite my goal of getting rid of tplink, but i think best compromise.
