DECO M5 issues with CoAP messages
Hello,
couple of days ago I bought the M5 as I have a smart house with Shelly switches spreaded all over and using wifi.
As a hub I'm using Home Assistant on a rpi3. My M5 is also the router and my modem (DSL-225) is bridged.
I'm experiencing slowness issues with my Shelly devices on my Home Assistant as it seems the M5 is doing issues with CoAP messaging. I tried playing with the IGMP configuration on M5 with no luck. I get a 30-40 sec delays with my equipment which I didn't have before.
Can you please help solving the issue?

Any updates from tp link?
I'm having the exact same issues with shelly devices using coap.
Thanks

@GeorgeBark they never replied.
Lousy support for this company.
I ended up doing what I didn't want to do: config it as an AP and give the control to another router from my ISP. It solved out the issue.

@Noami It seems to be fixed, received an update yesterday and it seems to be working fine now.

This bug does not seem to be fixed for the Deco P7. I am up to date with the firmware.

I'm having the same issues. The Shelly won't connect to the DECO M5, and if it does it feels highly unstable. I already tried disabling 5Ghz and Mesh without much result.
Can we have any answer from TP-Link here? I'm considering dumping the DECO's and buying ubiquiti as they same to work without problems.

Hi, have you updated the latest firmware 1.5.3 of the Deco M5?
Would there be any error message when shelly failed to connect the Deco?
What if we enabled the guest Wi-Fi over 2.4ghz only and will shelly be able to get a stable connection?
Thank you very much and wait for your reply.

Thank you for responding!
I'm not on the 1.5.3 firmware update, but on 1.5.1. I don't get a message to update. How should I proceed to install the new version?
I also tried the guest network and changing the SSID to something simple like Test without success.

I installed version 1.5.3 for my model/version/country manually using the web management interface.
This solved my issue! The Shelly is working stable now for.

I'm experiencing the same problem with shelly's / CoAP with Deco M9 plus. The behavior is highly unstable.
Just updated the firmware to 1.5.1.
Deco's are set up as AP.
Any ideas what to do/test are highly appreciated
Best,
Tom

Version 1.5.3 should fix the issue. But you apparently can't just install it through the app.
I installed mine manually using the web interface with these instructions
https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1599/ (option 2)
But be very careful to select the correct version for your device!
I however have the M5.
