Deco P9 error: daemon.err /usr/bin/apsd: apsd_get_active_ports:214: Error: No such interface 20 ??
Hi All,
Looking for some assistance from other Deco P9 users.
I've noticed my P9 is reporting the following error "daemon.err /usr/bin/apsd: apsd_get_active_ports:214: Error: No such interface 20", approximately 20+ times per minute. I've also noticed the P9 is repeatedly experiencing 100% CPU utilisation (load), and am wondering if the two could be related. I've contacted tp-link support, who've advised they can't see any issue with the device.
However, I'd be grateful if other Deco P9 users could check and advise if the same / similar error is being reported by their P9 systems in the (Notice, Error, Warning) logs?
Thank for the assistance.

Hi,
I am also facing this issue, and in my case, the deco is conflicting with my router, because when I use the wired network everything works fine. I am using my deco P9 as AP.
They are all using the latest firmware 1.1.2 Build 20200918 Rel. 74476. My deco worked really until last month, and since them everyday it stops to work.
When I look at the log there a lot of:
Wed Jan 20 08:39:59 2021 daemon.err /usr/bin/apsd: apsd_get_active_ports:214: Error: No such interface 23
I can also see a lot of:
Wed Jan 20 06:54:14 2021 daemon.err /usr/bin/apsd: apsd_get_active_ports:214: Error: No such interface 23
Wed Jan 20 06:54:15 2021 user.err syslog: Error: ssh_connect: Timeout connecting to 192.168.68.103
Wed Jan 20 06:54:15 2021 user.err syslog: Error: connect
Wed Jan 20 06:54:17 2021 daemon.err /usr/bin/apsd: apsd_get_active_ports:214: Error: No such interface 23
Wed Jan 20 06:54:20 2021 daemon.err /usr/bin/apsd: apsd_get_active_ports:214: Error: No such interface 23
Wed Jan 20 06:54:21 2021 user.err syslog: Error: ssh_connect: Timeout connecting to 192.168.68.101
Wed Jan 20 06:54:21 2021 user.err syslog: Error: connect
Wed Jan 20 06:54:21 2021 user.err syslog: Error: ssh_connect: Timeout connecting to 192.168.68.103
Wed Jan 20 06:54:21 2021 user.err syslog: Error: connect
Where the deco is calling something that did not exist, my network is 192.168.15.0/24, and there is no 192.168.68.*. There is something really wrong with it.
I already rebuilt the network, but I am still facing the same issue day after day.
Is there any fix for this?

Hi thanks for your feedback.
Normally, once the Deco is on the access point mode, the smart DHCP server on the Deco should be auto off and Deco would follow router’s IP range.
We have planned to add the DHCP on/off button on the later firmware upgrade to improve this function.
Please keep attention to the firmware release note on the local official website.
Thank a lot for your understanding and support.

@FireDZ Just received a firmware update. V1.1.3 Build 202001228 rel 55057.
I run in AP mode so I can't say anything about improvements. When there are problems, I will report back here.

@FireDZ lot of drops in connections in middle and last deco. Worse than earlier firmware. even Netflix (wired on middle) drops now and then.
How to flash old firmware?
The deco's ramp up to 100% cpu for 10 seconds and drop back to 10% after that.
This makes me very sad. After a year of just trouble (spending 160 euro) still no decent network.

@ReneP I just couldn't continue with the various issues (disconnections, slow speeds and 100% cpu, etc) and lack of any real support. The result being Ive ended up returning all my Deco units, and moving to an Asus solution.
The Asus solution is a complete revelation in comparison to the Deco solution; robust software / firmware (regular updates), refined management interface with a much wider range of configuration options.

@FireDZ Have you had any comment/solution on this issue from @TP-Link_Deco? I just installed my new P9 System and just when I changed to Access Point I started receiving the same error mentioned here. What I have is that after a couple of days the main deco melts down and all the satellites turn to blinking red.

Mon Mar 8 09:42:54 2021 daemon.err /usr/bin/apsd: apsd_get_active_ports:214: Error: No such interface 23
Hope there is a solution in place.
Thanks,

Unfortunately no solution appears to be available. Tp-link did want to install a beta firmware to capture additional data; however I declined and have ended up selling my Deco P9 and going with a mesh solution from another brand (which is working flawlessly).
