@Kevin_Z I have one additional question.

I bought Archer C6 and I am using it as access point.

My internet speed is currently 240Mbps. The main router gets 240Mbps on both WiFi and cable. I also reach this speed on the CAT6 cable that I use to connect to the Archer C6.

I followed your instructions and go to Advanced-system tools-system parameters to edit the duplex in the Router mode, and changed it to 1000Mbps full-duplex. After saving, I changed the operation mode to Access Point mode but the internet still gets capped on ~100Mbps.

My question is: Archer C6 can work as an access point and provide more than 100Mbps?

I appreciate your time and attention.

Regards,

Fabio

@FabioP

Do you mean the speed gets capped at ~100Mbps when you connected to the C6 wireless network? 2.4GHz or 5GHz? How about the link speed, confirm it as this link?

Generally, the negotiation speed will only affect the wired connection, while if the WAN negotiation is limited to 100Mbps, you won't be able to get more than 100Mbps on the clients, no matter they are connected via CAT6 cable or via Wi-Fi. As you mentioned that you can get ~240Mbps when you connect the laptop to it via CAT6 cable, so I think this is not an issue in your case.

You may refer to the below guide to reconfigure the C6 to work as an access point manually (Case 2):
